Need For Speed: Carbon demo on XBL

EA has released a demo of Need For Speed: Carbon on Xbox Live Marketplace. The 1.06GB download will give players a chance to race with three different cars; the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 1X MR Edition, Chevrolet Camaro SS, and Lamborghini Gallardo, . PS3 Peripherals Priced for Japan

A spare wireless controller, named the Sixaxis controller, will go on sale along side the console November 11 at a cost of 5,000 yen (about $42) each. Trek on ! Bethedas games on “trek” for release

Bethesda Softworks shipped out the first of a three games based on the Star Trek series. First released was Star Trek: Encounters, PlayStation 2 title developed by 4J Studios. Price Drop for 360: Denounced

In a closed meeting at X06 in Spain, Peter Moore stated that the price of the Xbox 360 will not be reduced this fall. Contrary to rumors that have started over the past few weeks, Microsoft doesn’t plan on reducing its’ console price to further tighten the grip on the next-gen console war. Gears Of War Preview

Today, Microsoft Game Studios announced that Gears of War will make a playable appearance after screenings of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning in New York, Los Angelos, Chicago, and San Francisco. Sony drops $30,000,000 on Kiosks

According to Bloomberg, Jack Tretton, of SCEA, said that 15,000 PlayStation 3 demo kiosks will be deployed to American and Canadian retailers this holiday season. Tretton had this to say: “Once the consumers get their hands on a PS3 and understand what’s under the hood, I think price will not be a factor in the decision-making process.” This deployment will cost Sony $30 million to complete. Xbox 360 HD-DVD details

Come mid-November, 360 owners in North America, UK, France, Germany, and Japan will be able to enjoy HD-DVD movies with the release of the HD-DVD add-on from Microsoft. The “estimated” retail price for the North American release will be $199.99. Other release prices will see £129.99 for the UK, and 199.99 euros for France and Germany. While Microsoft is only charging $49.99 for it’s first party titles for the Xbox 360, 3rd party releases will cost either your left arm, or your right @ $59.99. PS3 price won’t be falling for US but HDMI is included

We earlier reported that the lower end PS3 was getting a price cut in Japan, and the rumors were abundant whether the US would be getting the same break before launch.
