It was only a matter of time since the 2.80 firmware was exploited, Sony has now released the 2.81 firmware update. It seems this update is supposed to address a “security vulnerability”, as well as addressing a couple other issues. ATRAC files that were protected by Sonic Stage, and then transferred over to the Memory Stick Duo were showing as corrupted. Sony has also stated that firmware versions below 2.81 did not recognize high-capacity Memory Stick Duo with more than 4GB of free space.
