Selling a quarter of a million copies in the first week of its release, Nintendogs is the fastest selling portable game ever released. Around 15% of all DS owners purchased Nintendogs giving it a very high adoption rate. The game, in conjuction with the DS price drop to $129.99, is also helping to spur DS sales, with retailers selling one and a half to three times as many DS’s last week.
